How to Make Pumpkin Pie Macarons
Follow these simple steps to prepare this delicious dish:
Step 1: Prepare Your Baking Sheet
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats—this prevents your macarons from sticking like an overzealous cat at dinner time.
Step 2: Whip Egg Whites
In a clean bowl, whip your egg whites until frothy. Gradually add granulated sugar while continuing to whisk until stiff peaks form—think cloud-like but more stable than your average daydream.
Step 3: Combine Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, sift together almond flour and powdered sugar. This step is crucial; it ensures your macarons will be smooth and free of lumps that could ruin their day (and yours).
Step 4: Fold Mixtures Together
Carefully fold the dry mixture into the whipped egg whites using a spatula. Be gentle; you want to retain as much air as possible—no one wants sad, flat macarons!
Step 5: Pipe Your Macarons
Transfer the batter into a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Pipe small circles onto prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each dollop (they’ll spread out like gossip at a family reunion).
Step 6: Bake Them Up
Bake in preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until they have formed feet—a little ruffled edge at their base—and feel firm when touched. Let them cool completely before removing them from the baking sheet.
Transfer to plates and fill them with your creamy pumpkin-spiced filling for the perfect finishing touch! Enjoy these delightful bites that encapsulate all that is wonderful about fall in every delicious morsel!
