  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A crowd-pleasing comfort food, this tater tot casserole combines savory ground beef, creamy soup, and crispy tater tots into a satisfying one-pan meal. It's perfect for a family dinner or any occasion when you need an easy, hearty dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Meat: Brown the ground beef or turkey in a skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Prepare the Filling: Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, mixed vegetables, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Heat until well combined.
  3. Assemble the Casserole: Spread the meat mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Add the Tater Tots: Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  5. Bake: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes, until the tater tots are golden and crispy.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, substitute ground turkey or add extra vegetables like spinach or bell peppers.
  • If you want extra cheese, sprinkle more cheese on top before baking for an extra gooey layer.
  • You can freeze this casserole for up to 2 months. Just assemble it, wrap it tightly, and bake from frozen for about 45 minutes.
