Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced
- 1 package puff pastry sheets (2 sheets)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make the cheesecake filling: In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Prepare the puff pastry: Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 4 squares.
- Assemble the rolls: Spread a spoonful of the cheesecake filling on each puff pastry square. Top with a few pieces of diced strawberries. Roll the pastry tightly around the filling, sealing the edges.
- Apply egg wash: Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the rolls. Sprinkle with sugar for a slight crunch.
- Bake: Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and puffed up.
- Serve: Let the rolls cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can use frozen strawberries if fresh ones aren’t available, just make sure to thaw and drain them.
- These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- For an extra touch, drizzle with chocolate or a bit of extra powdered sugar before serving.
