Description

Soft, pillowy buns filled with creamy cheesecake and juicy strawberry topping—a delightful treat for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • Pinch of salt

For the Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced

For Topping:

  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes. Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually mix in flour to form a soft dough. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
In a bowl, whisk together cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Shape the Buns:
Divide the dough into 10–12 equal balls. Flatten each into a disc and create a small indentation in the center. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Add the Filling:
Spoon the cream cheese filling into the indentations and top with diced strawberries. Let the buns rise for another 20 minutes.
  5. Bake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the buns for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Strawberry Alternatives: Swap strawberries with blueberries, raspberries, or peach slices for variation.
  • Make Ahead: Prepare the dough the night before, refrigerate, and bake fresh in the morning.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for a freshly baked texture.
