Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 8 oz softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • Halloween sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix in granulated sugar until combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined—do not overmix.
  5. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared dish. Drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture on top, followed by the remaining brownie batter. Swirl gently with a knife.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Cool before slicing into squares.
