- 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter, for greasing the baking dish
- Chopped green onions (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the Potatoes: In a large pot, cover the cubed potatoes with water and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.
- Make the Cheese Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, milk, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
- Combine: Gently fold the cooled potatoes into the cheese mixture until well coated.
- Bake: Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter. Pour the potato mixture into the dish and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
- Garnish and Serve: Let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired, and serve warm.
