  • Author: JANE PHYLLIS
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These Nutella Croissants with Caramel Drizzle are a deliciously indulgent treat. Flaky, buttery croissants are filled with creamy Nutella and topped with a rich caramel drizzle for the ultimate sweet experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can of refrigerated croissant dough
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the croissant dough: Unroll the refrigerated croissant dough and separate it into triangles.
  • Fill with Nutella: Spread about 1 tablespoon of Nutella on the wide end of each dough triangle. Roll them up tightly starting from the wide end.
  • Bake the croissants: Arrange the filled croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  • Make the caramel drizzle: While the croissants bake, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and heavy cream, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.
  • Drizzle and serve: Once the croissants are baked and slightly cooled, drizzle the warm caramel sauce over them. Sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt if desired for a savory balance to the sweetness.
  • Serve: Enjoy these Nutella croissants fresh from the oven or at room temperature for a delightful treat.

Notes

  • Feel free to add a handful of chopped nuts (like hazelnuts) on top of the caramel drizzle for extra texture and flavor.
  • These croissants are best served warm, but they can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • If you're making these croissants ahead of time, bake them as directed and store them. Reheat them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes to bring back their crispiness before serving.
