  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 mummy hot dogs 1x

Description

These adorable mummy hot dogs are a fun and spooky treat perfect for Halloween parties! Wrapped in flaky puff pastry, they’re easy to make and guaranteed to delight kids and adults alike!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs (beef or turkey)
  • 1 package (1 sheet) puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Mustard or ketchup (for serving)
  • Candy eyes (for decoration)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet. Cut it into thin strips, about ½ inch wide.
  • Wrap Hot Dogs: Take each hot dog and wrap it with the puff pastry strips, leaving gaps to resemble mummy bandages. Make sure to leave a small opening at the top for the eyes.
  • Egg Wash: Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.
  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and flaky.
  • Add Eyes: Once out of the oven, let them cool for a minute. Add candy eyes in the openings at the top of each mummy.
  • Serve: Serve warm with mustard or ketchup for dipping.

Notes

  • Feel free to use any type of hot dog you prefer, including veggie or gluten-free options.
  • You can also sprinkle some cheese on top before baking for an extra flavor boost!
