Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces of noodles (egg noodles, rice noodles, or spaghetti)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2-3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup bell peppers (sliced)
- ½ cup carrots (sliced thin)
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Green onions (sliced, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Noodles: Boil your noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse under cold water. Set aside.
- Prepare the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the vegetable oil. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed.
- Sauté Aromatics: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Add Vegetables: Stir in the sliced bell peppers and carrots, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring to combine.
- Combine with Noodles: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss everything together until well mixed. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve hot.
Notes
- For added crunch, toss in some toasted sesame seeds or chopped peanuts before serving.
