Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cooked day-old rice
  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced against the grain
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium if desired)
  • 2 green onions, chopped for garnish
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak into thin strips and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the steak and cook until browned (about 3-4 minutes), then set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  4. Add cooked rice to the skillet, breaking up clumps as you mix. Cook until heated throughout and edges are crispy.
