  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup Karo syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
  3. Remove from heat, allow to cool slightly, then whisk in eggs one at a time.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in chopped pecans.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean with some fudgy crumbs.
  7. Allow cooling before slicing into squares. Drizzle Karo syrup over each piece if desired.
