- 3 large Russet potatoes (about 900g), thinly sliced
- 2 cups (480ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (100g) sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 tbsp (56g) unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Wash, peel, and thinly slice the russet potatoes using a mandoline slicer for even cuts.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream, then stir in salt, pepper, and onion powder.
- Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish. Pour half of the creamy sauce over them followed by half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
