This homemade tartar sauce is creamy, tangy, and loaded with flavor. Made with simple ingredients, it's the perfect companion for seafood dishes, fries, and more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped pickles or relish
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp capers, chopped
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh dill (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a medium bowl, mix mayonnaise, pickles, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and capers. Stir until well combined.
  2. Season and Adjust: Add fresh dill (if using), and season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the tanginess with more lemon juice, if desired.
  3. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Serve: Use as a dip for seafood, fries, or vegetables, or as a spread for sandwiches.

Notes
