- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional: 1 cup cooked shredded chicken or ham (for extra protein)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, shredded cheese, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, melted butter, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until fully combined.
- If using, add the shredded chicken or ham and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
