Tender chicken breasts are seared to golden perfection, then smothered in a fragrant garlic and parsley sauce. It’s a versatile meal that pairs perfectly with rice, pasta, or vegetables for a satisfying dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup chicken broth (low-sodium)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Season the Chicken:
Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and any additional spices you like. - Sear the Chicken:
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside. - Prepare the Garlic Sauce:
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it. Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the pan. - Add the Parsley:
Stir in the fresh parsley and lemon juice, and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. - Combine Chicken and Sauce:
Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the garlic and parsley sauce over it, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. - Serve:
Serve immediately, spooning extra sauce over the chicken. Pair with your favorite side dishes like rice, pasta, or roasted vegetables.
Notes
- Customizations: Feel free to use chicken thighs or bone-in chicken for a richer flavor. You can also add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the sauce for extra nutrition.
- Storage: Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave.
- Add Spice: If you like a bit of heat, add red pepper flakes or chili powder to the sauce.
