Ingredients
Scale
- 20 large white or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional for extra crunch)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prep the Mushrooms: Clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel and remove stems. Set the caps aside on a baking sheet.
- Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
- Stuff the Mushrooms: Spoon the filling into each mushroom cap, pressing gently to fill completely.
- Bake: Drizzle the stuffed mushrooms with olive oil. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly. Optionally, broil for 1-2 minutes to get a crispy topping.
- Serve: Let cool for a few minutes, then serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add sautéed spinach or chopped sausage to the stuffing.
- If you prefer gluten-free, swap breadcrumbs with gluten-free alternatives like ground almonds or skip them altogether.
- If you're preparing them ahead of time, stuff the mushrooms and store them in the fridge. Bake when ready to serve.
