  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

This fudgy brownie cake is a dessert dream come true for chocolate lovers. Dense, gooey, and incredibly rich, this cake is a perfect blend of a brownie and cake in one indulgent treat. Easy to make and completely satisfying, it's perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup (90g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
  • If you prefer a more cake-like texture, bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, but for a fudgier result, stick to the lower end of the baking time.
  • This cake can be served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
