- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the brown sugar and salt until fully combined.
- Gradually add the heavy cream while whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then cook for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Let cool slightly before serving or storing.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can use half brown sugar and half granulated sugar.
- To reheat, simply warm over low heat and add a splash of cream if needed for consistency.
