Description

This homemade cranberry sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and tart, made with fresh cranberries, sugar, and a hint of orange. It's a simple yet flavorful addition to any holiday meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tsp orange zest (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Rinse the cranberries and discard any damaged ones.
  2. Cook the Sauce: In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, and orange juice. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Simmer: Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The cranberries will burst, and the sauce will thicken.
  4. Optional Flavors: Stir in orange zest and cinnamon for added flavor.
  5. Cool and Serve: Let the sauce cool before serving. It will thicken further as it cools.
