For the meatballs:
- 500 g ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 400 g spaghetti
Instructions

Prepare the Meatballs:
In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Form into 12 meatballs and set aside. -
Cook the Meatballs:
In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Cook the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes, turning until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside. -
Make the Sauce:
In the same skillet, add onion and sauté for 5 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and cook for another minute. Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer. -
Combine Meatballs and Sauce:
Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let simmer in the sauce for about 20 minutes. -
Cook the Spaghetti:
Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. -
Serve:
Plate the spaghetti and top with meatballs and sauce. Garnish with additional Parmesan and fresh parsley if desired.

- For added flavor, you can incorporate fresh basil into the sauce.
