Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish or cast-iron skillet. -
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. -
Combine Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and melted butter until well combined. -
Combine Mixtures:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay. -
Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. -
