Enjoy the crispy, sugary bliss of homemade churros, perfectly golden and dusted with cinnamon sugar. These treats are a delightful way to satisfy your sweet tooth!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Make the Dough: In a saucepan, bring water, 2 tbsp sugar, and salt to a boil. Stir in flour until a ball forms. Let it cool slightly.
  • Add Eggs: Beat in the eggs and vanilla until smooth.
  • Heat Oil: Heat oil in a deep pan to 375°F (190°C).
  • Fry Churros: Pipe 6-inch strips into the hot oil, cutting with scissors. Fry until golden, about 2-3 minutes each side.
  • Coat and Serve: Drain on paper towels and roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Serve warm with chocolate sauce!

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the sugar mixture.
  • Experiment with fillings like chocolate or caramel for an extra treat!
