Description

This classic buttery pound cake is rich, moist, and perfectly indulgent. With just a handful of ingredients, it’s easy to make and perfect for any occasion. The light, golden texture and decadent flavor make each slice irresistible.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Ensure your butter is softened to room temperature for easy mixing.
  • You can add a pinch of lemon zest or almond extract for a unique twist.
  • For a richer flavor, you can use buttermilk instead of whole milk.
