Description

These soft, fluffy Birthday Donuts are the ultimate treat for any celebration! With a sweet vanilla glaze and colorful sprinkles, they’re the perfect way to add a little extra sweetness to your special day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • Rainbow sprinkles (for topping)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan or baking sheet with butter or cooking spray.
  • Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  • Combine wet and dry: Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined—do not overmix.
  • Fill donut pan: Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about ¾ full.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Make the glaze: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Glaze the donuts: Once donuts have cooled slightly, dip each donut into the glaze and top with sprinkles.
  • Let set for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of citrus zest to the batter for a refreshing twist.
  • If you don’t have a donut pan, you can shape the donuts by piping the batter onto a baking sheet or frying them in a pan.
  • These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
