- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
- Rainbow sprinkles (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan or baking sheet with butter or cooking spray.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry: Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined—do not overmix.
- Fill donut pan: Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about ¾ full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Make the glaze: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Glaze the donuts: Once donuts have cooled slightly, dip each donut into the glaze and top with sprinkles.
- Let set for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of citrus zest to the batter for a refreshing twist.
- If you don’t have a donut pan, you can shape the donuts by piping the batter onto a baking sheet or frying them in a pan.
- These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
