- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Prepare the Oven and Dough:
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Shape and Bake:
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers should still be soft.
- Cool:
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- For a variety, try using different types of chocolate chips or adding nuts to the dough.
