Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 slices thick bread (sourdough or Texas toast)
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until browned and onion is translucent (5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in ketchup and Worcestershire sauce; simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
- On a non-stick skillet over medium heat, place one slice of bread butter-side down. Spoon meat mixture onto it, top with cheddar cheese, then add another slice of bread on top.
- Grill until golden brown on one side (3-4 minutes), flip carefully and grill until both sides are crispy and cheese is melted.
- Let cool for a minute before slicing in half. Serve with pickles or potato chips.
