Description

A simple yet delicious treat, these candied walnuts are perfect as a snack or a topping for salads, desserts, or even your morning oatmeal. With a sweet, crunchy glaze, they are easy to make and absolutely irresistible.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Toast the Walnuts: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the walnuts and toast them for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Prepare the Glaze: In the same skillet, add the sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir constantly until the sugar melts and the mixture thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Coat the Walnuts: Add the toasted walnuts to the skillet and stir to coat them evenly with the sugary glaze.
  • Cool and Serve: Remove from heat and spread the candied walnuts on a piece of parchment paper to cool before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to stir the walnuts continuously to prevent the sugar from burning.
  • These candied walnuts can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • Add a dash of cinnamon for extra flavor if desired.
