Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Toast the Walnuts: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the walnuts and toast them for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Prepare the Glaze: In the same skillet, add the sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir constantly until the sugar melts and the mixture thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
- Coat the Walnuts: Add the toasted walnuts to the skillet and stir to coat them evenly with the sugary glaze.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from heat and spread the candied walnuts on a piece of parchment paper to cool before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to stir the walnuts continuously to prevent the sugar from burning.
- These candied walnuts can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Add a dash of cinnamon for extra flavor if desired.
