Description

This Maple Mustard Croissant Breakfast Sandwich combines the flaky goodness of croissants with savory scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and a sweet-tangy maple mustard sauce. It’s an easy, indulgent breakfast perfect for busy mornings or leisurely brunches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large croissants
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk (or non-dairy milk)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter (or olive oil for dairy-free)
  • 1 cup cooked turkey sausage patties (or plant-based sausage)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Maple Mustard Sauce:

  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Maple Mustard Sauce:
Whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. Scramble the Eggs:
Crack eggs into a bowl and whisk with milk, salt, and pepper. Cook eggs in butter over medium heat, stirring gently to create soft scrambled eggs. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Sausage:
Heat the cooked turkey sausage or plant-based sausage in a skillet or microwave according to package instructions.
  4. Toast the Croissants:
Slice croissants in half and lightly toast them to add a crispy texture.
  5. Assemble the Sandwiches:
Place scrambled eggs on the bottom half of each croissant, then top with sausage, drizzle with maple mustard sauce, and add cheese if desired. Close with the top half of the croissant.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, swap the turkey sausage for a plant-based sausage or veggie patty.
  • You can prepare the sauce and scramble the eggs ahead of time for a quicker assembly in the morning.
  • Feel free to add extras like avocado, spinach, or extra cheese for added flavor.
