Description

Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread is a delicious twist on the classic sandwich. Tender beef, sautéed veggies, and gooey cheese are piled on a crispy bread base for an easy, cheesy, and comforting dish perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cook the filling: Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet. Add onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until soft. Add the beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and cook for 2 more minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Prepare the bread: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and hollow out the inside. Butter the cut sides and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden.
  • Assemble: Layer the cooked beef and veggie mixture over the toasted bread. Sprinkle mozzarella and provolone over the top.
  • Bake: Return to the oven and bake for 7-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven and slice into portions.

Notes

  • You can use flank steak or chicken as an alternative to ribeye for a leaner option.
  • Feel free to add sautéed mushrooms or jalapeños for extra flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, and reheat in the oven for best results.
