Ingredients
Scale
- 250g pasta (penne, spaghetti, or your choice)
- 300g ground beef
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 cups tomato sauce (or marinara sauce)
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Grated Parmesan cheese (for garnish)
- Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the Beef:
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant and soft.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
- Simmer the Sauce:
- Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute to enhance flavor. Pour in the tomato sauce, reduce the heat to low, and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Combine with Pasta:
- Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the beef and tomato sauce, stirring to coat the pasta evenly.
- Serve:
- Serve warm, garnished with grated Parmesan and fresh basil, if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
- You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
