Ingredients

Scale
  • 300g rigatoni pasta
  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook Pasta: Boil rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Prepare Meat Sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute. Stir in ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Mix Sauce: Add marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture. Simmer for 5 minutes to combine flavors.
  • Combine: In a large bowl, mix cooked rigatoni with the meat sauce. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  • Top: Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  • Bake: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Serve: Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat sauce.
  • Feel free to substitute ground beef with ground turkey or a mix of meats.
