- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Boil rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare Meat Sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute. Stir in ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Mix Sauce: Add marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture. Simmer for 5 minutes to combine flavors.
- Combine: In a large bowl, mix cooked rigatoni with the meat sauce. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Top: Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat sauce.
- Feel free to substitute ground beef with ground turkey or a mix of meats.
