Description
Tender Swedish meatballs, seasoned with warm spices and cooked in a rich, creamy gravy. Perfectly paired with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

- 1 pound ground beef
- ¼ cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
- ¼ tsp ground allspice
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ cup onion, finely chopped
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ⅛ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 5 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Prepare Meatballs: Mix ground beef, panko, parsley, allspice, nutmeg, onion, garlic powder, pepper, salt, and egg until combined. Form into 12 large or 20 small meatballs.
- Cook Meatballs: Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides. Remove and keep warm.
- Make Gravy: In the same skillet, melt 4 tbsp butter and whisk in flour until brown. Gradually add beef broth and heavy cream, stirring until thickened. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper.
- Combine and Serve: Add meatballs back to the skillet, simmer for 1-2 minutes. Serve over egg noodles or rice.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use a mix of ground beef and pork.
- Chill the meatball mixture before forming to make handling easier.
- Adjust gravy thickness by adding more broth or cream as needed.
